This is probably my favourite shot from Ohayocon 2010 and possibly my favourite photo of my Heather costume that's ever been taken. X3 I didn't really think it was going to be anywhere near as fun as it turned out to be re-wearing my Heather costume.I fixed up the costume a little bit before wearing it (like adjusting the boots and covering some of the badly stitched seams). It's sort of neat to re-wear this costume because I can see how far that I've come since making it in 2007. The vest is still kind of meh, but it's pretty decent considering the fact that it's made from an old windbreaker with the pockets being made from material taken from the sleeves that I had cut off. XD That windbreaker was a really lucky find at a thrift store. I only wish the material was just a bit nicer.
The wheelchair was brought to the shoot by Derange (that's her Cosplay.com ID) and her friends. It looked absolutely amazing! I was beaming when I got to sit and pose in it. X3 The SH photoshoot at Ohayocon was wonderful. Thanks to all the great Cosplayers for making it so memorable!

Elemental really created an amazing atmosphere with the lighting and positioning that she achieved with this photo. I'm really thrilled that this photo has had such an amazing response.
I always thought the original Silent Hill 3 promo image that I based this pose from was a very powerful image and it was really a fun experience to recreate that scene.
I appreciate all the support that I've received. It means a lot to me! :3

Ahhh yes that wheel chair. It really is epic. She and her friend did such an amazing job with it. I love being able to see it whenever I go to their house next door! It will be making a trip to Mansfield Reformatory in May for another photoshoot there!

Thanks! I've done quite a few Silent Hill costumes. Lisa from 1, Maria, I have a closet Cosplay Angela costume, Alessa from Origins, Lisa from Shattered Memories, Heather and one of Heather's alternate shirts. I haven't made a new Silent Hill costume in a few years though. I might Cosplay a Nurse from SH3 at some point.
That wheelchair was so cool! They did an awesome job on it. I think I giggled a bit out of joy when they said I could use the wheelchair for a few photos. It's cool that you guys are a close knit group! I wish I lived closer to my survival horror Cosplay friends.
I am beyond jealous that you guys have been able to shoot at Mansfield! What an amazing looking location!

Aww... I wish you didn't live so far away! The place is amazing! Its my second home lol. I can't wait to go back there in May for more Silent Hill Pics! Last year was such a good time.

I've been making Silent Hill costumes since 2007 and my very first SH costume was Heather way back then. I haven't been doing as many Silent Hill costumes lately, though. The last few games haven't caught my Cosplay fancy aside from Shattered Memories. We'll have to see what comes up in future Silent Hill games. (^^)
One day I would love to see some of these amazing locations like Mansfield. One of these years maybe I can manage a road trip. XD

Yes you for sure need to go to the Reformatory one day! I volunteer there so I will definitely give you a tour of the place. If you ever do make a road trip you are more than welcome to stay over my place. Friends are always welcome! So excited for the next Reformatory shoot. Little over a month away.

Silent Hill can be a bit hard to find characters to Cosplay which makes sense since most of the games have maybe 4 or 5 characters tops. XD I think you would be a great James if that helps. (^^)
Wow! It must be pretty cool to give tours for a place like that. There is a lot of history to discover. A lot of it is dark, but it's important to never forget the past. I appreciate the invitation! It would be a really amazing trip to go on one day. Thanks!

Yes it is amazing learning the history of the place! Your absolutely right about not forgetting the past. Definitely don't want to forget any part of the history of the place both good and bad. I also help out with the ghost hunts there too! NP with the invitation!

Oh wow! You help out with ghost hunts, eh? That's awesome! I love looking into paranormal stuff. I freak myself out with it though. I'm not sure if I would have the nerve to actually go ghost hunting or stay somewhere haunted. I would be so worried about disturbing something and the energy following me. In general I find it incredibly fascinating. That must be really cool!

Yep! Awesome that you are also interested in the paranormal! You should definitely give a hunt a shot though. I was the same way thinking about what if something follows me home. I was like nope not going to let that stop me. I went and had a great time and nothing happened. It definitely is very cool especially at a place like the Reformatory with so much history!

Probably my fav shot of your Heather cosplay! I really love your wig and all the minor details you got on this costume. The boots! You painted the boots the right colors lol. Elemental sure knows how to shoot a wicked Silent Hill set!

Thanks Amber! I do love this photo. It's my all-time favourite photo of my Heather costume and one of my all-time favourite Cosplay photos. It's so dark and moody. I never expected such an awesome photo when Amanda and I decided to do a quick photo with the wheelchair. Boy was I ever surprised with the great result! :3

The only thing I hate about Silent Hill is there is no happy ending at all. I just hate to see people not being able to find happiness in the end

That is true. Even when you get the best possible endings they can be quite ambiguous and pretty sad. Still, the games leave you to wonder and that's why I enjoy them so much. :3

I got the PC version of Silent Hill 3, looking forward to playing it this weekend! I might give the other games a shot sometime later!
Besides, I need a break from Battletoads on the NES. Level 10 in that game SUCKS.

I do hope you have fun with the game! I was just over at a friend's house last night playing SH3 too actually. XD We didn't get very far as he requested that we put the puzzle level to hard which does get tricky. (^^);; Still, it's a really atmospheric and neat game.
Hopefully you won't get stuck in Silent Hill 3 like you did in Battletoads!

"Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney." The story is great, the dialogue is top-notch, the characters are memorable, and the music is AWESOME! It's like an interactive graphic novel. ^_^

Mmh... I've only seen a few "wonderful Heather Cosplayers" (I'm very strict on cosplays, I confess) and most of them have no real composition, or anything like that... Usually, it's only Heather holding a gun. Here, not only you do Heather, but you also do Alessa. The light is impressive, a very good contrast! And the composition has a strong effect, it has a powerful impact.
AND maybe you don't even really look like Heather (as we can't see your face, who knows?), but thanks to your body language and your composition, we really SEE Heather, not a cosplayer. It's absolutely perfect.
