Well, I hope this is good enough quality for you guys to see even though it is pretty shitty on mine. My computer froze in the process of submitting this so I've officially lost the PSD file. D: My dumb self didn't save. UGHHHHHHHHH. Anyway... Have an updated reference for Taber. I'm going to go cry in a corner now. -sobs-

Couple of Important Changes:
1.) His rack. It's sexier. It's better. It's more manly. His old one will now serve as a reference for his second or third set.
2.) Owl? Yes. Owl. Her name is Eir. Love her.
3.) Crystals/feather necklace! Crystal is from his best bro Mordecai. Feathers are courtesy of Eir. Because she thinks they are pretty.
4.) White feather in mane? Oh, y'know. A gift from his lover-girl Crowe. She totally digs him.
5.) WTF PAINT CHANGE!? Yes. He's not a captain anymore so he toned it down... Sorta. -licks- Let the raving begin.

Eight jaguar teeth are bound tightly around the base of his tail with strong, durable twine that was charmed by his mother to keep it from breaking. It is from this dangerous weapon that Taber earned his nickname. Supposedly the teeth are from the first jaguar his great-grandfather ever killed.

A crystal given to him by Mordecai hangs from his neck upon a leather cord at the base of a small collection of six owl feathers. The crystal constantly gives off a soft, cyan-hued glow. (Charm: +1 Magic)

BRIEF BACK-HISTORY:
- Born in the Spring of Year 746 to Edlyn, an Oakfern doe, and Tabhin, an Oakfern stag and a former Captain of the Guard.

- Satisfied with the birth of a son, Taber remained Tabhin and Edlyn's only child.

- Edlyn was a history-keeper and well-respected herbalist within the Oakfern's ranks. She raised Taber on the stories and legends that had been passed down through the generations.

- Tabhin, retired but still strong, groomed his son to become a respected warrior. A potent magic user himself, Tabhin focused on teaching Taber how to use water magic in combat.

- When Taber was three, he was accepted into the ranks of the guard as an apprentice, exposing him to the fighting styles of different stags and teaching him to navigate the deepest tunnels of the territory.

- During his fifth year, when his first set of antlers grew in, he and another young stag were sent on an urgent mission to recover a fawn that had wandered out of the tunnels. They found the fawn when it released a high-pitched squeal of panic. Although it took both stags to knock the cat off of the fawn, it was Taber who chased off the jaguar with water magic while the other stag dragged the fawn to safety. Both stags returned to the herd as heroes.

- Tabhin, pleased with his son's success, gave Taber a necklace of jaguar teeth that had belong to his grandfather and urged Taber to create a unique weapon that would give him an advantage in combat.

- With his mother's help, Taber constructed his scourge out of the teeth and durable twine. Edlyn charmed the scourge so that it wouldn't break or fall apart during combat.

- While the scourge was a hit with his counterparts, it didn't immediately give him a nickname. It wasn't until his seventh year that he earned the title of Scourge after breaking the jaw of a young jaguar who wandered too close to the tunnels.

- Not much happened for a time, although it was during his eighth year that he took his first harem of does during the rut.

- With the former Captain aging and Taber in his prime, the Scourge sensed his opportunity and challenged for the position. His father, Tabhin, and mother, Edlyn, looked on proudly as their son used his magic prowess and efficient fighting methods to earn his new position as Captain of the Guard.
