8D You should submit this to They'd love it
Its a fantastic shot-- so much so that i'm now putting on sneakers instead of wandering barefoot in the basement.

Kudo's to you on being brave enough to take this D:

If I saw that in my house, I would probably run away screaming and never come back. Then come back with a huge bomb and blow up my house. XD

It is creepier than a creepy girl crawling towards you. But this one may be smashed with the sole yet the girl cannot be, but this one is real yet the girl is not.

true true... although I don't kill bugs or any insects, so they're still creepy, especially since I know they're still crawling about!

The Dalai Lama once said that we are not entitled to kill any kind of life, including bugs. Once in a conference someone who wanted to follow his doctrine told the Dalai Lama that every time we drink orange juice a lot of germs and other micro-beings of tinier size inside us(the ones who make us suffer a cold) were killed, and asked him what did the he think about that; the Dalai Lama answered the asker not to be a wiseman and henceforth to stop drinking orange juice. Then the Dalai Lama attended the next question from another person, and the person stood still thinking about what he had heard.
Sorry for the tale, I felt like knitting up the yarn. I think you are right about that of not killing animals wantonly, though sometimes we killed them and we remain unaware of it.

That Dalai Lama is a very wise man and part of the reason I stopped killing bugs in the first place. Naturally things occur and we accidentally kill bugs or animals without knowing it... the difference is malice. When we maliciously kill them its bad and karma will get you for it.

Zervidor In reply to sugarcoat [2009-07-30 06:30:08 +0000 UTC]
Then I figure out that all what matters is the intention. What about if you have the opprtunity of killing a bear that is about to kill two children? Is that bad malice?

sugarcoat In reply to Zervidor [2009-07-31 00:27:04 +0000 UTC]
no, that's survival. I think in this instance the dalai lama would rather kill the bear then kill the child, although then again he is about natural taking its course, so I'm really not sure what he would do... but I'd def kill the bear rather than be killed. but then again you could always try a non-killing tactic and hope neither children or bear get hurt.

how did you get that thing to sit still for a picture? they move at a million miles an hour...
It's a house centipede, and while many centipedes can deliver painful bites, this one is harmless. Those big bad boys you find under rocks and logs though.. watch out!
