Description EDIT: Gave it a fresh new look with new fur examples and more explanations.

If someone wanted good fur results in a fast, easy way, this tutorial helps. It really is easy, ANYONE can do it.

This tutorial isn't perfect, but it can sure put your foot in the door to help you get great fur results. Fur is the hardest part of drawing any animal, but it doesn't have to be a pain.

This tutorial can be used with any paint program; GIMP, Photoshop, Painter, MS Paint, etc.. For BEST results, use a digital drawing pad. Pressure sensitivity is key.

Enjoy! ^_^

What is "flow" exactly? is it opacity? there is not "flow" in GIMP.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sugarpoultry In reply to bordercolliesRULE [2012-08-24 22:51:24 +0000 UTC]

Hmm it might not be called flow in GIMP, but it should have something like it. And no, its not opacity, but any settings near that, should be like it.

You smudge on the last step right? and if you do on what strength? For Photoshop.

For some reason, it won't let me enable pen pressure. D: Help?

By the way, I use a Wacom Bamboo.

sugarpoultry In reply to Neria-Mahariel [2012-03-11 18:40:00 +0000 UTC]

Your Wacom Tablet preferences should have the option. Go to your start menu, all programs, wacom tablet, wacom tablet preferences. You should have the option to change your pressure sensitivity all the way to max (recommended).

Neria-Mahariel In reply to sugarpoultry [2012-03-11 18:55:18 +0000 UTC]

I went to my All Programs section, and there is no Wacom Tablet in there. Whenever I installed the C.D. to my computer, it installed Corel Painter to my computer from the Wacom disc. Keep in mind, I bought it second-hand.

This is a very nice example! And I like how you add the highlights and lowlights colors at the top! I always have trouble choosing the right ones. But i may have to try this out, because I need to work on my manes xD
