I know this is late but can anyone help me with something? I'm trying to figure out how to make the animation slower because it goes 3x faster than it should...

The program that I use is IconART, distributed by Conware. You can use this program to alter the framerate on cursors.

Good, good, good! I've noticed that some computers perceive the framerates defined by IconART differently. My computer, for instance, displays cursors moving more slowly than as animated by the program.

I' not sure I understand the statement. Could you expand on what you mean?

When I opened it up on IconART, I edited the animation speed to the pace I wanted it, then i saved as a .ani file, like the originals, but when I went on control panel and tried to change my cursor to the modified ones, they would not show up. Did I save them wrong?

It does not sound as though you did anything wrong. Did you save it with the same name, maybe? If so, it would have replaced the one with that name before it, and possibly appear to be that one. Or, perhaps it is saved in a different location on your computer.
From what you have said, it sounds as though your actions were executed properly.

I put all the cursors into a folder then i put the modified ones into a different folder inside the other. The modified ones have different names and when i open the folder, their icons look like paper. Sorry if you can't understand me. I'm having a hard time explaining it... Should I save them over the original?

It sounds like everything is in order. I don't know why it is being difficult. I don't know what is the matter.
Perhaps, if you like, you could tell me which cursor you want to modify the timing on and what you want the framerate to be, I could send an edited version of those cursors to your E-mail address. If you want to do that, send me a note with the address. (Not Gmail, though. Gmail doesn't recognize the .ANI filetype as safe, so won't accept messages with animated cursors attached.)

I'll fiddle around with them for a bit. If i can't figure it out I'll just leave them fast because it isn't a huge problem. Just a little pet peeve. Thanks though

I wish I could have been more helpful. I can't say that this is an issue that I have ever encountered, so I am not sure about a remedy.
Best of luck, though; I hope a resolution is found.

I downloaded it but when I run the install it freezes when saying "Checking for previous installed components" Any idea why this is happening?
