Someone asked me about making an Overwatch OC so HERE don’t say I never did anything for this fandom lol
So this is Beta, a support! She’s a (formerly) stray canaan dog Ana Amari found in Egypt while bounty hunting. Long days in a snipe nest are a lot better with dog to watch your back. She’s 4 years old and loves her assault grandma and chin scratches
Her stats:
Role: Support
Max health: 250
Abilities-
Quadruped (passive): Beta's base speed is slightly faster than average (a bit slower than Lucio)
Ripper: Tears at enemies with teeth and claws
Heel: Grabs enemies and holds them stunned for several seconds while dealing minor damage.
Strafe: Quickly dodges left or right while keeping the view aimed forward.
Fetch: Can pick up map, teammate or enemy dropped items and carry/drop them where needed. Items she can pick up- map health packs, Torbjorn ammo packs, S76 biotic fields, Junkrat traps, Symmetra turrets (will continue to fire at enemies while being held).
Howl (or Bork)- ultimate: Beta howls, distracting the enemy team enough to drain their ultimate progress (affects all enemies close enough). Drain is 0-50% depending on enemy proximity
I imagine, instead of regular skin unlocks, all of Beta’s skins are different dog breeds that are associated with different characters (as if the associated character was Beta’s ‘owner’) and each skin prompts different in-game dialogue. Rarity dependant on how likely that character would own a dog/how ridiculous the breed is for the setting. Some of them are jokes but some of them I tried to match with the canon character’s themes/former jobs. So far I have:
canaan dog- ana (default)
caucasian shep- zarya
chihuahua- reaper
akita- genji
bulldog- tracer
german shep- s76
st. bernard- mercy
australian shep- junkrat
border collie- mcree
barbet- widow
chow- mei
rajapalayam- symmetra
I pretty much chose Ana as the default owner because it made the most sense story-wise (in my head, at least) and I mean, these crazy snipers are running around with no spotters? Not on my watch
