Makin a rundown of all my characters fighting styles as best I can, with examples!

(ALSO CORY DOES WHAT HE WANTS. HE"S A DAMN HIPSTER)

Because I like to over-think everything XD I've come up with all my OC's styles, and found videos to match both their unarmed styles and with weapons (For those that actually use them haha) Keep in mind they don't match the videos exactly, nor do they exclusively use one martial art style... this is just generalizations!

SOOO...

FUU- In life, Fuu was a samurai (long story to be explained later!) So she practices Aikido for unarmed combat. Of course, she rarely fights unarmed anymore, and employs her dual zanpakuto all the time, although she is quite capable of using one, and pretty much any bladed weapon becomes lethal in her hands.

Yes, Fuu is terrifying

LAYLA- Layla was a dancer, and it's obvious in her fighting, which basically resembles capoeira, armed and unarmed. Despite training with Fuu, Layla prefers fighting unarmed.
Armed (The guy in red...just imagine it with two swords or her shikai and it's perfect!) [link]

JO- Jo pretty much loves training and sparring, and likes to fight unarmed for the challenge, although using blades really is her favorite. Her style resembles Fuu's, quick and loose. As for unarmed, it has recently started resembling Northern Shaolin martial arts, utilizing kicks more since she lost her arm.
Armed- (the blonde guy!) [link]
Northern Shaolin- (firebending matches her style perfectly... typical lol I know.. just imagine them hitting each other instead of shooting out fire haha) [link]

SHINICHI- Always the proper rich boy, he took lessons in traditional martial arts because that's how nobles roll. And he decided that 'karate' was his favorite... although he was pretty lazy, so his form has only recently gotten decent. As for his weapon, he pretty much only fights in shikai, and doesn't really have a favored style yet... so i don't have an example! He still can't decide how he likes to fight.
Shotokan karate- [link]

MATT- Also likes to train and spar, although he prefers a more straightforward style. He uses a hung-gar-ish style primarily, favoring its low stances and harder strikes. When armed, Matt prefers to release his sword and use its techniques, although he's quite apt at just using it as a simple knife.

Armed-- (instructional video, but it gives the right idea haha) [link]

VAN- in typical guido/ show off style, Van enjoys XTREME 'mixed martial arts-y' type fighting with a lot more boxing- like moves than anything else.... that is, when he does actually fight. His armed style isn't very notable or unique, he uses what zanjutsu he learned at the academy and basically boxes with his shikai.
Unarmed--(these examples but with more punching and even more doucherry haha) [link]

GRANT- This monster also prefers unarmed combat, since he doesn't really like slicing people up. When he does use it, he wields it like a rapier, which lowers the effectiveness of the thing. Jo tried to teach him how to catch swords because of this, with iffy results. He uses moves from his high school wrestling days as well as jiu-jutsu he started learning in life and continued rigorously in death. Grant is rather slow, but is monstrously strong and has a huge reach.
jiu-jutsu- (just the throws and grappling, he won't really thow punches either) [link]
armed (look at the dud with the rapier...in shikai... yes, Grant single-handed fences with that giant thing haha) [link]

CHRIS- Is freakily fast, if and when she fights, but has pretty much no power. She prefers to use mind games and her shikai's powers anyway. When unarmed she uses wing-chun-ish martial arts, something she picked up from a friend in her old squad. She can only really do the basics, but she's fast enough to make it work. And since she rarely uses her zanpakuto as an actual weapon, she doesn't have a fighting style (or so it seems)
No examples, since Chris almost never fights straight.

ELIOT- Knows the very basics of zanjutsu, and her released zanpakuto is basically a cane (and her bankai is a tree) so she doesn't do much in the way of sword handling. She is interested in tai-chi, and has been joining a group every other morning to practice for many years. Jo sort of forced her into learning the actual fighting applications of the martial art out of worry, and Eliot is now decent at unarmed combat. The style works well for her considering her lack of physical strength. Although she really would rather use kido exclusively.
Tai-chi- (she's not quite this bad-ass at the martial art... yet haha) [link]

CORY- (is a hipster and trains with weapons while everyone else is training unarmed.) He's a researcher and an archer, so as far as unarmed combat goes he's in the same boat as Elliot and Chris. Matt forces him to learn, though, so he's gotten a little better. Given the chance, though, he'll just chill in the back and snipe everyone with his mad archery skills.
