This guy's pretty big. Hope this helps someone. Comments are welcome, please tell me if this was worth my time or not- so I know to make more or not.Please favorite if you use this, credits aren't required but they'd be nice.

ya ummm How to make a .jpg or a .gif image into a .psd file

that's easy
you just open the image in gimp and then go file>save as and then at the top where it lets you alter the name, just add .jpg or .psd to the end- and backspace the .jpg or.gif

ya I did need to know. the only promblem is I need a part of the image to be on a new layer.
And yes I use gimp

did you understand the directions on saving different file types?
to make a new layer use your layers dialog (if it's not open go Dialogs>Layers or something close to that) then click the little button that looks like one blank sheet of paper, that makes a new layer.
Or to open a picture directly onto a new layer go File>Open As New Layer

I have been using gimp for a while. I just don't know how to got the lines on a separate layer from the background if it wasn't made like that.

then you just have the background open and then do the little button that looks like a blank page, name it, and then make sure it is the one highlighted and then draw
