Picture of the secondaries attached to elastic, post-threading~ 11/12/13: FINALLY updated recommended stringing-material, braided cord bunches up in tight spaces, 3/4-inch Ribbon is MUCH better and still strong~

Maybe - you'd have to replace feathers with connected fabric, but the opening-closing mechanism would remain the same. Go for it!
