Okay am learning my new tablet. This one is a commission for someone on a game I play. I have several reference pictures - not just one so some of this picture is made up or extrapolated.Finished I think - waiting to hear back from the commisioner.

Sorry this was a poor title. I don't really have time to do commissions as such, once in a while I will auction off a opportunity on a game I play just because I feel like drawing something a bit different. Most of the other ones are really just for friends.
I don't have time to do art trades or commission justice, art is my release so I don't like hedging myself with 'should do' if you get my meaning?

Thanks. You can tell I think it looks a bit cartoony, but I am happy with it. The ref pictures were really really small with no detail - other than I did have a closeup of the head.

I suppose as long as you have a good photo of the face/head and you know where the markings are, you can usually make the rest up and get away with it!

woah! did you really do this with corel paintel essentials ? I have it, but I've never learned how to use it, so I use airbrush in photoshop elements 7 and smudge/dodge/burn, but your way seems to be so much better!

Actually for this one I upgraded to Painter 11. Not that it makes much of a difference to me - I don't use many brushes - just the digital airbrush.
