This is absolutely beautiful <3 how do you blend the colors like that? i never get it right .. want to make realistic horses, but since i can't figure out how to blend properly, i can't do it "/

Actually little is blended. I use a digital airbrush and change the opacities and just layer over top. I find I get better control than trying to blend and get the write color at the end.

I admire how you take the time to show that the horses you paint HAVE FUR.
SO MANY "realism" artists that paint horses ALL THE TIME seem to think that horses have no fur, because they always make them appear shiny and almost plastic. Horses have fur, and it does my heart good to see that you actually take the time to paint that.
It really adds a HUGE difference to the piece. It makes it look so much more realistic.

10 - 15 hours I would say per horse now. Much shorter time if I didn't do the hair and kept them smooth.
