Description
The left hand of my project. This was rather hard bc I don't have a heat gun. I'd add all this tiny detail and then smear a little of the other side.Related content

Thank you. Yeah, this was made with super sculpey...It goes on the WIP on my front page.

I used my own hand as a reference to sculpt this..It's about 2 1/2 inches from the bottom of the palm to the middle finger tip.

Really nice work on the details of the hand, especially where the skin stretches across the spaces between joints.

Thanks for checking it out. It took a while to do that, but maybe not as long as other parts of the sculpt.

This is sweet, looks like difficult and fiddly work! I like the wrinkles on the palm they look realistic.

Thanks, it was hard to add all this detail on something so small without destroying other parts, but I figured out an easier way to keep the basic shape other than just wire. Bake it with a very thin layer of sculpey and form only two bends instead of 3.

this could very well be the angle, but the tips of his fingers seem alittle fan (specially the pinky)
but that could easily just be the angle of the picture.

fan? you mean fat? I think they look fairly normal and it's probably the angle, but I could be wrong. I referenced my own hand and some sculpts of the hulk.

I'm def gonna give him some leggage. This sculpt is just too big to fit in my oven all at once, so I'm doing it in pieces.

Man that's awesome. Where exactly did you learn to do this sort of a thing? Do you go to a sculpting school?

Thanks! I don't have no fancy sculptin' school learnin':-P I'm a self-taught sculptwhore..I have a background with drawing, but I guess I'm just patient perfectionist and have some knowledge of anatomy.

hehe. yeah this is the good with hands. i also take them as my reference. i even watch myself and probe the pose of the figures. for my sub zero i took a self shot pic with my cam in that pose. some girls liked it, lΓΆl.

Haha..it helps quite a bit. I'm going to have to use myself as a model more often lol.
