Someone had asked me if I had any more E102 Gamma pictures and said that I hadn't.So I decided to change that.
Halfway through the rough sketch, I realised I was putting far to much detail into it. Feeling semi-lazy, I added shading and detail, but kept a lot of the original rough work.
I like to put a lot of detail into characters, especially during the rough stage. It's during this stage, I believe, you capture the most out of the character you're drawing.

I wouldn't worry about the 'rough-work' (it's a heck of a lot better than my rough-work). If anything the etching adds to the style. Also like the glow effect.
I agree that the early etching is usually when the character is given life. Texturing and outlines can just add to the mood or they can just shatter the character completely if handled wrong (the latter happens to me a lot).
Personally prefered the Sonic Adventure incarnation (with the lazer gun for a right arm and the more sympathetic personality that probably suits the title quote more) though you did do a very nice job capturing the Sonic Battle art style.

Stunning image, the black and white really adds dynamics to the picture.
I also like the perspective, especially seeing as how he's quite awkward to draw in a normal position.

I've always liked Gamma.
I personally think he's better than Omega. Or Silver. Or Chip. Or most of the half-ass characters SEGA's come out with lately.

Nice! I personally love black an white pictures, myself. For some reason they just look so much better than in color. I am going to fave this, my friend.
PS... Ok we might not be "friends" in the traditional sense, so I'll change the "my friend" part to "SIR!" I hope you are pleased with this decision.

No such thing for too much detail, at least in a sketch or Work in Progress. Shows how it can evolve different. Although wouldn't this actually be Sonic Battles 'E-102 Chaos Gamma' due to having two hands?
