I'm sure I'm not the only person who made this comparison. Cute animals that can undertake a temporary transformation to become more powerful but still change back? Ha! Nice try!Although joking aside, I'm curious to see how the Mega Evolutions play out in battle. Many of the designs look pretty dang cool !
...And on a side note, a Digimon vs. Poke'mon game. I can still dream!

Digimon has about as much in common with Pokemon as it has with the demons of Inferno(you know the ones from Bayonetta) which I actually found kind of funny.

It makes no sense in general (I agree with you there), but in the case of mega evolutions there is cause for comparison. Pokemon X&Y is implementing a temporary evolution system, something common to the Digimon franchise, and naming it (intentional or not) after the final temporary evolutionary stage in Digimon.

digimon has temporary evolution, for their entire evolution line! pokemon only has temporary evolution when in their final form so i believe such a comparison is stupid in my opinion. also, digimon has kinda died out already. You missed the point. They are comparing Pokemon mega evolution with Digimon mega evolution. They are not comparing Pokemon evolution lines with Digimon evolution lines or even Pokemon with Digimon. You act like Pokemon must be a carbon copy of Digimon before a comparative joke about an evolutionary stage between the two is allowable in your mind. What nonsense!
Digimon is still producing new episodes to this day btw.

i know what your saying, but i just thought i would bring up the point just to have it there. also, i'm sorry but nothing can even be ALLOWED to be a carbon copy of anything in my mind. if something is a carbon copy of anything else, it just doesn't feel right to me and i won't really look at it much.Β

Sad thing is Charizard is only 5'07". Im pretty sure Greymon is alot bigger.And Greymon can digivolve to Wargreymon and DNA Digivolve with Metalgarurumon to become Omnimon!

After watching the Japanese anime to Digimon, the Digimon 'Mega' form was only translated as such in America. It's evolution was 'Ultimate' in Japan.
I don't really see the reason to get worked up about it myself, aside from cracking jokes here and there as is being done here. I've been a fan of both since I was a kid, more so for Pokemon now than Digimon. Regardless, the Mega-Evolution, however you view it, is at least going to bring about some new and interesting ways to play the game.
