Yeah, you need to work on your blending between the starfield and the sky. It changes too fast to look natural especially since the sky has somewhat different colourscheme than the spacescape. Plus you have to be extra careful with the blending since the sky has clouds and those can be bit problematic since you can't really just fade them to the starfield.
It's not a bad picture, you just need to be more careful with some details in the future. Beautiful planet by the way.

You umm make them in photoshop. Thats where you combine your compositions. Anyways if your looking to do planets you can look at the planet tutorial in my profile, that is if you have cs2, or you could grab stock planets (also see profile or just search deviant art for stock planets)

no, no pulgin could produce a planet that detailed sadly. :-/ Although terragen 2 can produce some interesting space scapes although its very hard to learn how to use.
