is so sad feeling
..though my cats having a wrestling match outside my door is cheering me right up
anyhow... yeah.. makes me want to go open the door and let her in. and wrap her in a big blankie. and make her some hot cocoa. and let her hug my biggest penguin (which is really QUITE big).

Simple but extremely emotive & powerful. I was trying to do a similar shot the other day, but the watredrops just wouldn't listen to me...

wow. that captures so much emotion with just one frame. thats amazing! i must admit, one reason i like it so much is that ive been there before... ive felt like her, and have seen everything distorted and blurred by metaphorical tears (rain, perhaps)... or even literal ones. anyways, amazing lighting (as every other person has said, hehe) but theres just another lil ego booster
great piece! definite fav!

this is great.. I love the emotion in it... the colors really help with that, and obviously, as does the expression..
I love the way, it seems like she's crying, yet, it's just the actual water...which I love the clarity of by the way..
this is a really good idea and creates for such an interesting look, good work

this photo is really nice, I like the idea, how you put wet glass between the model and the cam, to visualize the topic of being excluded. the title adds to this too
technically there is nothing to complain, the photo is sharp and the colours working

Painful. Sad. Emotive. An excellent shot. It expresses the message very clearly. I understand it well because, although I've changed considerably, I was for a time a bit of an outcast. I'ld newly arrived from Canada to New Zealand and I was excluded because I was different from others, even though I wasn't that difference in appearance, it's not the blatant racism of white/black but I had an accent and was a bit odd. For a while I longed to be part of the more popular kids groups and eventually became accepted, which made me realise just how shallow, immature and moronic those types tend to be. Granted, I still am a bit of an outcast from the 'popular' circles at high school, and I expect to be at university, it's easy enough to find people who can appreciate you, simply for who you are.

i'm sorry to hear you're having a bad experience in high school. i think you'll find the atmosphere in university to be more inclusive. good luck with everything

Heh. The funny thing about that is that I don't particularly want to be part of that anymore. They all seem to be horribly shallow and uninteresting.

be careful of pre-judging, or you'll be no better than them.

wow what a stunning set of photos, and such different emotions evoked.
This is my fav of the two, I think because it looks less painful somehow.
I really love how that strand of hair coming down her right cheek blended with the water to look like running mascara...
awesome work Kevin...

Another superb image..I guess I like the other just a little more, but that may be because I saw it first In any event, the emotion just jumps right off the screen in both photos..great stuff.

wow, this is such an incredible piece of work. her eyes alone show so much emotion. and the added effects and use of light make it that much better.
your work is an inspiration.

that's a very nice one, a face in the window on a rainy cold day, and there's even a flow of water that looks like it's coming from her eye like a tear

Wonderful, Kevin..again, I love the way the glass gives the image a sense of distance and depth.
I am trying to figure out the illumination process here.

light is very simple here. it's a single flash through a 10 degree grid (spotlight) placed very high in front of her.
