interpret it? hm .. giraffe! man i'm being too loopy now.
i do think i would have prefered (and forgive me i can not spell) your face and neck cropped out of this one so that the focus could be completely on your folded hands. as it is not though, the interpretation i come to is one of a caring and helpful person (the crossed arms over the chest), who still holds part of themselves back (the hidden face). take it for what it's worth.

The shadow game played here is excellent, almost alluring. The technical side of this is spot on. I like how the shadows move around the surface of the right hand, and the crevices of the neck.
What speaks out most to me is the way the left hand presses on the chest. To me, that shows a desire or want, but a silent hesitation and hidden doubt at the same time. Which is backed by the cross formed at your sensitive heart. This could be signalling insecurity from a usually extroverted and daring person.
There is also a lot of warmth in this photograph, and the colour of the skin makes it seem somewhat deeper, which continues as the colour fades to black...
But what I REALLY want to say is:
omg di5 iz s00000 c%l!!!!11one. can 1 hav ur auotgrpfffz?? kTHNxx.

My interpretation in only 1 word: "Loved".
And that was the very 1st thing that came to my mind when I saw the image for the 1st time

This would make a beautiful silently expressive Valentine.
I really love your ability to capture such perfect skin texture. Your lighting is to die for.

Is this you?? You have great hands. I think I'm a bit in love with those hands... they look so... hm... comforting. And warm. And soft. *stops to euphorize now*

Kev, nice shot. This one is more up my alley--- I love the high amount of contrast. I like that you get to express yourself when you feel creative like this. Usually that's how I like to paint--I like to sit down and paint how I feel, rather than have a design and spend several sessions/weeks painting it. I just yesterday finished a deviation like that (I started it in September) and I don't think I'll do another one that way for a long time. Who wants to post scraps anyway?! Heh, anyway, good shot. I won't comment on the green leaf thing, but I'm impressed with this one.

lol somehow i'm not surprised you didn't like the green leaf thing! anyway, thanks for the comment. i agree that it's best to create when you're feeling something and need to express it

Naw, you're just doing your thing. Can't complain about it, just nothing special. Look, now you've got me talking about it, ha! Still, I do like this other one for sure. And I love the contrast of the all-black background in both of them. In any case, keep it up, Kev.

As usual i'm very impressed by the technical realization of this picture. Somehow the pose seems to be like holding to yourself, but still open to new experiences...(don't really know how to tell this in english)

what a beautiful piece
the lighting is gorgeous, and the texture and feel to the skin; owh i just want to touch this picture.
i dont know your feelings or what emotion was behind this, but i can really relate to this piece and what i see in it. although the actual piece is so warm and somewhat reaching out and longing, i cant help but feel so sad, and so lonely and somewhat hesitant (spl?) to open up again to what i really want
its a fantastic piece

wow Kevin, the way you capture skin texture is just wonderful. I suppose it helps if your subject has good skin , but the lighting just glimmers off the almost imperceptible creases that all skin has (I'm fascinated with normal skin, as my job is consumed with the abnormal
)
The play of shadow around the base of the neck is soft, and the wrinkles of the knuckles are sharp....
I get a feeling of coiled strength (ie strong hands, healthy muscles), but a feeling of self-preservation with the head turned away and the hands protecting the heart
It's beautiful

Very nice photo, I'm very interested..
Look, first off.. The lighting is very nice, very crisp.. and light.. It's very good to the eye, dosen't hurt..
The crop, the way you cropped this is genial. You don't show the whole body, which is great in this case.
The concept of it is very nice, depending on how people interpret.... I see it as if.... You're feeling a need to embrace.. You know?
for that part
It's a very nice foto, also very provokative !
i'm very fond of this !

mm... I really like the idea of this one, with the hands, shoulders and neck area... basically some of my favorite parts of the body
However, I might like it if it were zoomed out just a little bit, to get a little more of the shoulders in, and possibly some jawline action as well... that's my opinion...
I like the lighting very much, it really enhances the curve and detail in everything... I like how you can see some veins in the hand...
this is really quite lovely.

"Innocently Sheltered" is what I think.. If that makes much sense..
sort of distancing yourself from harm, reluctantly, despite craving to "spread your wings" the image itself reminds me greatly of religious depictions in which the figure might be seen as graceful but also somewhat woeful of the current situation...
I think you've captured that essence well in this.. very well, considering that this is 'simply' a torso shot. Injecting that vulnerability and grace (almost... subtle power in a way as well) into a singular shot is a difficult task, which I think you've accomplished well.
Also, keep up your unique selections for daily devs, I think they add a more abstract (yet not too elusively so...) to the collection of them.
