It's amazing how a photograph can make your day a lot better.
The lighting plays beautifully on your body.
Really like it.

I've been through all your gallery enjoying all your works, and I didn't comment on any of them cause (as you can read) my english sucks. But this is so touching that I can't just fave it without a word. It's such a beautiful picture, and I'm needing a little hope, and little bit of light, so thank you

I love how the model shows a certain anxiety to have reached the end. I think a lot of people get nervous when they reach the end of their struggles because they're afraid of change.
I'm loving your pictures.

this looks like it should be a movie poster. or..an ad in a very very classy magazine that can afford te really expensive ads. It would be an ad for... probably a fragrance. .. or something ridiculoulsy obscure, like shoes. (some magaizne ads make no sense as far as image and product connection goes..) or maybe even women's langerie. Who knows?
(I've had 3 chocolate muffins, excuse my silliness )
I really like the light though, very down in a tunnel, been diggin your way to the top, and you just broke through to the surface and it's been maybe too long since ther'es been sun shinning in your eyes.
How do you take your own photo and get yourself so nicely in the frame?? I think I've asked this before, but it still boggles my mind..

i set up a light stand where i'm going to stand, and focus on it. i also set it to my approximate height so i know where i'll be in the frame. it's easy when you know how

Took me awhile to comment but here goes. Overall I really like the piece. Technically you've done a super job here. What was throwing me was the title. Now, for the most part, I tend not to look at titles first, but for some reason that's the first thing I saw when looking at my messages page awhile back. To me, this isn't so much a tunnel as you being stuck in a well. Looking up, light coming down ... that just screams "well" to me. When I think 'tunnel', I see a light horizontally driven through an image. So for me, I get a sense of cautious optimism ... which I suppose could be seen as hope

Nice. Looks reminiscent of some of the 'theater' themed work you've done, a promo or stage shot. It also reminded me of this movie. There was some interesting lighting effects in that movie (probably filter effects really) where parts of the film were colored blueish or yellow-orange, and this photo reminded me of the former. "You're not afraid of the dark, are you?"
Your work elicits theatrical and film references when I see them for some reason, maybe because of your attention to lighting detail. Speaking of which, you might find this article interesting (you need to open an account but it's free and spam-free).

awesome. thanks for the links! i did like Pitch Black quite a lot. also, you hit the nail on the head about theatre and film. i'm highly inspired by both. george hurrell and karsh are my biggest lighting influences. both were also inspired by film and theatre.

I am not sure I see hope in his face so much as uncertainty, hope would have a more optimistic look perhaps, but still it is a very good thought provoking piece. Perhaps it is the 'light at the end of the tunnel' that you were referring to? Good job, and the lighting is perfect, did you use a color gel or is that done in ps7? Your work only gets better each shot. Very nice.

i did the color change with a color temperture adjustment when processing the RAW file from the camera. i find this a little more flexible than using gels because i can change my mind later. plus, there's a lot more control over the color. thanks for your kind comment

I wanna know, where the hell Is the tunnel at? I've looked all through this piece and cannot seem to find that damned tunnel you speak of. I see a guy, but no tunnel. Man, I want my money back.

heh i'll refund every cent you paid for this! actually, you can't see a tunnel. you can only see the light that comes into it.

I really like the subtle lighting like this.... and you still able to get a some detail in the body.... it's amazing.. ^_^
The angle and facial expression here just look like 'Bruce Lee' to me.. hahah. ^^
Good job..

Like prey to the gladiators you wait, looking up into the light which holds your doom.
Quite ambiguous in the message, i supose the viewer interprets it according to their mood.

oh i hate positive light at the end of the tunnel stuff :eww: but i have to admit that the lighting here is good, also i like the composition in general and the BLUE
i suggest you'd try something like 'trying to hide from the light' with the pose, now you're kinda looking forward to it but if you turned your body and were trying stop the light with your hand, yet it would to show a part of the face etc. well, just an idea if you like

Oh I've missed your stuff. This definately makes up for the absence however. The lighting is so good, and conveys a feeling of being lost but working towards being found, towards the light. The subtle blue is beautifully melancholic. And I love the crossed arms.

Excellent image - the way you've captured the feeling and the sense of uncertainty (both in terms of your expression and in the image generally itself) is simply perfect.
Hmm... I think all of us go through unpleasant times in our lives, but attempting to look on the positive side of things as long as you learn something from the experience they probably do more harm than good.

i put a flash up on a light stand about 12 feet in the air. it was filtered through a honeycomb grid that cut it down to a very narrow spotlight.
