Now were talkin'. This is in the realm of what really passes, in my opinion, of great photography of the human form. Splendid. Superb. Perhaps the best I've seen on this site.

while keeping with the abstract feel, you've managed to make the male form look rather fluid and graceful. From someone who doesn't particularly think of the male form as being lovely, that's a compliment.

great shot, amazing how many different angles u can look at a human body and make it look like a kindof abstract landscape

it's so cool, because you can look at it and look at it, figuring out what exactly you're looking at, and then once you think you've got it, you can keep looking and marvelling at the musclelature of it all is awesome stuff and then you want to touch it, because the texture is so awesome looking

Again the lighting is so wonderful and so different from no. 1. Warmer and makes me wanna touch seriously...in a nice...artisitic way ...

Beautiful form there You most definitely did an awesome job in ensuring Max i shown in the best light possible (it's a pun! )
anyways, I have some constructive criticism about this one.

The attention directly goes to the part of the landscape that's in focus, of course, which is cool and is used by you a lot and works. however here there is also another focus point - up and to the right from the first one, where there is most light, it's brightest and therefore the eyes goes there rightaway. I'm not sure if it was meant to be like that, but to me it's confusing, I cant' decide which one i like more

I don't know what is happening to the right of the frame, but i think it would be better if you moved it a little bit that way, so that the part in focus was a little bit more off the center of the image.

i'm done here

yay! thank you for your detailed critique. i think like most of my bodyscape photos, i intend it to be a journey that takes you from a starting point to a destination. i leave it up to the viewer to decide where to linger and where to move. the light being brighter at the top is not necessarily intentional, but it is a matter of fact, since the top lighting naturally leaves more intense light on the higher surfaces of the subject.

unbelievable!! i'm SO inclined to ask what glass you had on the front of your 10d. it's such an abstract from the norm. i love how much it makes my mind wander, tryin to figure out what part of his damn body it is! keep em coming! i await more!.

Yes I would say Max is very capable

You did a stunning job here, great lighting, you manage to capture him in such a way that he seems to step away from being human. . Great shot. It's so in your face with such a delecate softness that I don't know whether I feel like I'm seeing too much or I long to see more.

I really do love this one.

I decided to look back at your female elemental series, and I wanted to commend you for your choices in composing the two series: the light, white light and curves in the female series and the black background and darker harsher light and rougher angles in the masculine.

Compared to Max Elemental 1, I like this one more because of the warmth in the light, it really hits home that the subject is human.

moonbeam13 [2004-11-18 01:09:26 +0000 UTC]

holy cow.. I know he's attractive, I've seen him in person, but it's the lighting that does it here. It's not about his body, it's not even about the human body really, it's the way the light hits the curves of the muscles that strike my curiousity and beg me to touch. The desire to feel the contours you've painted so beautifully in light, is so strong, I can't find the words to explain it and considering who's saying that, says a lot. My eyes tell me that everything is hard and rugged but my mind is telling me it's soft and smoother than my eyes would have me believe.

A seemingly difficult journey may be easier than it would appear.
