"She'll chew you up and spit you out, and you'll love every heart-pounding moment of it."This is a portrait of *Moonbeam13 . Those of you who know her know that above all, she's warm, loving and kind. If you know her, you'll also know she's terribly afraid to be in front of a camera. It's only because she is so warm, loving and kind that she agreed to allow me to photograph her as "goth cheerleader," in order to raise the spirits of one of her friends who is desperately in need of cheering up. The fact that she was able to surmount her fears and slip into this confident, sexy, man-devouring character is testament to her wonderful modelling skills.
Tech:
Lit with 2 flashes fitted with grids to create a spotlight effect. One directly above, and one to the oblique right to light her face.

oh yea, i noticed that from your journal that you are going to be away on vacation in feb, but i think the photography club wants you to come back for another awesome seminar, but I dont think they would be interested in another lighting one for this term. if you have any awesome seminar ideas, please drop me an email and i'll pass it to the *new* events co-ordinator (I QUIT! lol, jk, i am going on my work term in Toronto D me = very excited about all the free time i am going to have for photographs)
and i just got myself that infamous Photoshop CS book by Scott Kelby today in the mail and its so awesome D

hah, if she is the one around here with the avatar of the woman with glasses and a pink outfit I have trouble dispelling that image in my idea of what she might look like, hopefully that perception isn't too rampant though because if so I'm in bad shape, everyone will picture me as a blurry person groping a breast...
Anyways, I digress, but this shot is nice. The lighting and expression upon her face, to me, seems the central and most successful element. The attention focused on her zodiac sign is also interesting, but the smooth lighting along her face and neck is wonderful.

Mr. 
This is seriously one of the most gorgoues shot of a woman I have ever seen. It is even better that this is someone I really adore! You captured her strong side, her elegent side, her sensual side, her shy side, and her confident side (this one is a bit more subtle, but it is there). You have pretty much wrapped up everthing about Moonbeam13 that I have grown to know and adore about her in one very fantastic shot that you both should seriously be proud of.

You bring out something about her personality. I watched this portrait and than her gallery, and I found the same sensation.

Kev, your ability to bring out the true nature of people is a gift to be jealous of. Your subjects really show a part of themselves when they are infront of your camera. Very rare to see this gift in the photographic community let alone the dA. Just a brilliant image...
