I got inspired by a submission from SwiftGlimmer about a drawing they made about a year ago of SpongeBob in the Nintendo 64 style. Now that I'm actively using Autodesk Maya for my 3D Animation class, I decided to learn how to model in the program as well, since I didn't want SpongeBob to be just a rectangular box that I slapped a few textures on and called it a day.

So, I made a very simple, yet slightly complex model of SpongeBob, using his 1999 design (Season 1), since that's how I think it would've looked if Nickelodeon had released a potential SpongeBob game for the Nintendo 64.

You can't see it all in this screenshot, but every side of him has custom textures that I drew myself: his back pores, top of his head pores, his belt on the back, and even the soles of his shoes are textured a dark gray (I've always hated how even most official SpongeBob merchandise makes his shoe soles all black)

EDIT - April 4, 2022:

•Found out how to take a proper image from the actual software, so the finished model is now clearer

•Fixed/changed some textures and colors

•Added Krusty Krab hat & Spatula models
