Description
Shiny Form: sta.sh/01dn4ascpp2gEvolves From: www.deviantart.com/supersonicg…
Basis: Inspired by sewer gators and mutants.
Original Version: None
Special Notes: *Radioactive - All Pokémon on the field other than itself lose 1/8th of their max HP every turn.
Battle Specs: So, how does one make an already strong crocodile monster even stronger? Dip it in a vat of mutagen, of course, with a complimentary set of Anchor Arms! Aside from the much bulkier Water/Poison typing, Sapian Krookodile shares the same high Attack power of its Unovan counterpart, but also boasts some thicker skin for some added Defense...though at the cost of a small portion of its speed. Hard to be agile with arms that massive. And while it loses out on the incredibly powerful Moxie, it gains a much more insidious ability in its place: Radioactive. This ability turns Krookodile into a walking biohazard, dissolving the HP of every other Pokémon on the field every turn...just by EXISTING! Not only does this aid MASSIVELY with taking down weakened opponents, it pairs well with its bulkier stats letting it stay on the field longer and chip away even more health. And if it POISONS you, you're going to be losing health VERY fast it you don't put this mutant down quickly! As for its other abilities, Merciless is a bit more situational, but can DEFINITELY be very scary, especially against bulkier opponents, and of course, the ever-reliable Intimidate is always handy for softening up your opponent.
Move-pool-wise, it retains pretty much all of its Dark coverage, and can still learn select moves like Earthquake via TM. But of course, befitting of its new typing, Sapian Krookodile now has moves like Aqua Tail, Liquidation, Waterfall, Poison Fang, Poison Tail, Toxic, Gunk Shot, and Ice Fang. All that, on top of moves that's universal between both sets, like Brick Break, Outrage, Iron Tail, and Rock Slide. Still mostly the same, just with a couple different ingredients for a different sort of taste.
As I've driven home many times over now, Sapian Krookodile is a MONSTROUS powerhouse that, in some ways, even outshines the original! However, just because you have power, it doesn't mean you're invincible. Case in point, that slower speed means that potential threats that its Unovan variant would normally be able to outspeed...can now outspeed YOU. Specially-orientated 'mons, in particular, can be really nasty if they go first, as they can easily bypass its higher physical defense and put it out of its misery. Make no mistake, though...if you're staring down the business end of this crazed, blood-hungry mutant unprepared, you wont even have the time to regret before it rips you to shreds!
Artist's Notes: Okay, so this isn't exactly "Halloween" themed, per say...but hey, if Resident Evil can do it, so can I! This was a fun one to conceptualize! Kinda surprised GameFreak hasn't touched on the idea of sewer gators (especially after already having a region based on New York)...or a mutant Pokémon, though that one make a little bit more sense. But still, the idea of making an already imposing Pokémon even MORE imposing was just too good of an idea to pass up on...and I will admit, the Resident Evil remakes did somewhat give me a small flash of inspiration on how to approach this line.
Anyways, I hope you all like this mutant brute and I'll see you all for the next round of spooks! Take care! ^_^
