NOTE!!!
This message is for everyone, ok?
As i have said over and over and OVER again, i have shrunk the box down as much as possible. any text / whatever that you may have still in the box is due to the skin that your using.
If you have Text in the box still, then use another skin. Sorry to be so damn blunt, but if you skim through just the comments on the page, you will see that a lot of people have complained about it, and as i point out every time, it is not my fault.
please do not blame me, change your skin, or blame the author of the skin.

i know how to make taskbar icons bigger, leaving the rest of the icons. Use ViGlance

and it iconises and makes it look like 7 (but you need the win 7 theme)
go to

It only makes them icons. I think they should work out a re-sizer for it.

cant be done, the size is hard-wired in to the operating system. sadly, if you want 32x32 sized icons in the task bar, then your going to have to use Windows 7 only.

ViGlance can icon-resize, but it has to be running all the time.

Works on XP and Vista.

that is as big as they get, the app just shrinks the text area of the buttons.

This will not work with my Windows 7 Ultimate, i want that vista taskbar to my w7, i hate that in w7 there's only icons, it always mess up my head!
I tried to change minwidth but it didn't change anything..
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics\MinWidth (154)
But after this it didn't gave me vista taskbar to my w7...now there's still only icons...

As I said I use Vista Home Premium and right after using this hack (Win7 type, log-off, re-login and then XP/Vista type, log-off, re-login) folders don't show anymore the expected icons for taskbar window buttons.

SuprVillain In reply to hexaae [2009-06-14 12:04:24 +0000 UTC]
This hack had nothing to do with the icons. you may have used something else that messed with your icons.

I'm quite sure everything was ok before running it.
Never used other hacks or patches on this system. It's quite clean.
You don't have this side-effect with yuor Vista?
You can enter C: and taskbar window-button will reflect the little HD icon or does it show the "ugly icon" for you too?

hexaae In reply to hexaae [2009-06-18 21:09:40 +0000 UTC]
Well, after many looong tests (HP Recovery to the original laptop defaults with nothing extra installed etc.) I have the final word about the problem: it's a bug in Vista!
It starts with the folder buttons on the taskbar showing the correct icon for the folder you're in... at this point if you keep these folders open and start copying back and forth many files simulteneously Vista will loose this feature and will start showing the "ugly icon" for all open folders! I've done nothing to alter themes, icons and the rest. No hacks or patches. Just used it after a clean reinstall and noticed that without apparent reason it looses this feature!
Win7 Iconizer has nothing to do with it actually (as expected)...
PS
I reported the bug to MS, maybe a hotfix will be released one day...
