They did it… they arrived. Erica hopped out of the rented car, snow crunching under her boots as she looked excitedly around. Well not only excited but nervous as well. After all they had arrived in Hungary for a very specific reason. It was the starting point of The White December. The slam of a door caused the girl to blink as she saw her boyfriend Justin hopping out of the passenger seat.

“Well, we’re here. What time do the horses come again?” Justin asked, adjusting his toque to cover his ears

“They should be here within the hour. We can get things figured out while we wait. I’m sure I need to talk to someone about where they are staying before we leave. Also, how the horse’s transfer to the checkpoints is going to work.” Erica replied. She looked around hoping to find someone to answer her questions, an official or even a more experienced attendant. “I’m going to head over there to see if I can find someone to speak with”

Justin smiled, the fact that Erica was headed off on her own to ask a question was huge for her. Last time she had attempted the prestigious event she had to go alone. It hadn’t gone well apparently. The poor girl was only 20 when she last attended, thankfully seven years later it was obvious she had matured and gained more confidence. Justin recalled as Erica arrived home way too soon last time, too nervous to even begin the ride. She had been so disappointed in herself; he had made it his personal mission to make sure she started this time. He was glad to see that it may be an easier task than he thought.

“Okay I have things pretty sorted, all we need is for the horses to arrive.” Erica said returning a few moments later. As if on cue the crunch of tires in snow echoed as the large transport truck pulled up towards them. Erica had used a recommended company; thus, multiple teams were on the truck. She waited eagerly as after while familiar horses were unloaded and handed to her and Justin. Elentiya, Vilya and Ricky stepped into the new environment, all calm and behaving… well except for the mare stares currently plastered onto Elentiya and Vilya’s faces.

“Alright love, lets take them for a quick walk the stretch their legs, then get them settled for the night. We’ve got a busy day tomorrow” Erica said giving Vilya a pat hoping to soothe the annoyed mare. With a nod Justin started walking off with Elentiya, still smiling to himself. Erica has got this, this year she’ll be fine.

So a bit of background on my history with The White December. I attempted to participate on my old account years ago. Unfortunately I just never had the time to complete my entries as I was completing my biology degree at the time. This time is my redemption year! I’m so excited to participate and am incredibly open to collabs or roleplays for the event. Also if anyone needs a background character mine are open, no need to ask. I just request to tag me so I can see :3
