As the last and the most distinctive variant of Indomitable family, Valiant subclass and Honor subclass are sort of emergency suppliment to Star Fleet inventory. Things went back to 2406, when Star Fleet was facing increasingly intensive defense requirement in Gamma quadrant, around Brisingamen Globular Cluster where was the farest territory of Federation. All 7 planets in this cluster are shared by mainly Bajoran, Cardassian, and some other species originally belonging to Dominion, with 2 local races. Colonization initialized in 2380s and had been heavily populated. This is when they were threated by Benkar, an Empire deep in this quadrant. Conflict broke out in 2405, a time that Star Fleet needed to deal with multiple interstellar confrontations, including Romulans and Borgs. Those "old friends" consumes enormous Fleet resources, resulting a lack of attention in remote areas. Yet patrol vessels assigned to Brisingamen were far from enough to protect millions of populations. So Commodore Wilhelm Lindemann, who was dispatched to deal with this crisis, came to Brahms Workshop to talk about a ship which might be constructed rapidly, with heavy armament and relatively good speed. This allowed the new ship to compensate not only the Brisingamen but other frontlines in short time.

Brahms Workshop was convinced that Indomitable was a right basic model for development, as it was already a successful long-range combat vessel. For the most important capabilities, there was no spare time to design new tactical array, so what they did was swapping nearly 40% of habitable sections away with additional circuits, conduits and grids, including cooling, heat dissipation, shielding and redundancy. Indomitable class had fairly large potentials in phaser array as well as shield generator, restricted by heat dissipation capacity. And now they could receive more energy input, which led to a boost in powerplant. Class 12 c1F was a continuation of the idea to increase energy intensity of warp core. It is a 11-deck long reactor, more compact than the version on Indomitable class, yet generating 58% more power. This is because of Β her tri-reaction chamber and matter/antimatter beam configuration. They even decided to set a 3-deck long secondary core in saucer as reserve power for main hull and tactical system. Her weapon configuration is almost the same as Indomitable, with slight difference including two phaser arrays and a Replaceable Multi-purpose Pod Assembly on the ventral engineering hull. The pod could be accomodated for customized sensors, launchers or generators. As a result of such modifications, her tactical capacity is levelled up and becoming one of the most lethal vessels in fleet inventory. But to serve such changes, she redesigned the secondary hull with Intrepid alike configuration. Her main deflector has a elliptical dish, while the shuttle bay 2 at the rear has a uprise curtained door. She's still capable of scientific tasks, though less competent.

USS Valiant launched in 2407, after a fast 8 months construction at Antares Yard. She was deployed forward to Brisingamen immediately with Lindemann's task force.
And her following performance was quite satisfying, making Star Fleet built a sister ship, USS Janeway. They helped Federation remain safe during the most critical days in the decade. When peace was restored, they were assigned to sectors with fine infrastuctures, since they are poor in sustainablity and thus incompetent of deep space missions.

Interestingly, shortly after the frozen of Valiant's design, Brahms Workshop developed another variant out of this design that is specialized for deep-space independent explorations, which is USS Honor. Her 4 necelles is quite classical and was once unique. But despite the similar appearance and the fact that they were both developed from Indomitable class, Honor has no much relationship with Valiant. She doesn't feature complicated redundant conduits like Valiant, remaining a similar interior configuration with Indomitable, even more scientific-oriented and comfortable for long-term independent missions. Her parallel-operational dual warp cores provide sufficient redundancy and extra energy to power 2 additional necelles. Those new necelles offer better cooling performance but make the ship relatively vulnerable due to enlarged hull. Her shield is augmented, barely compensating the defensive weakness of larger hull.
