anything that takes more than 2 or 3 hours loses
my focus.

do you still have the initial sketch of this before the pen tool step? or was there anything done before that?

nothing was done before that. the sketch is what hapens after that. I keep changeing the pentool shape till it seems right in that sketch phase

I still don't know how to work that pen tool, its like the 5th wonder of the universe. D:
As for brushes, I don't even use a round brush or a custom brush, it might be because I use Corel painter because it doesn't allow you to make a custom brush or come with a round brush. Either way in traditional or digital, I can never make things look quite right. Heck or even look good for that matter.

the cloth is actually the easiest part here, because it has the most freedom.
No harsh edges, you can basically use whatever brush you'd like to achieve this effect.
