When I woke for the first time I could hardly breath. My throat was wet and dry at the same time, my eyes blurry, my coat soaked and sending chills through to my bones. I struggled to get up but couldn't quite yet, at least I think that's what I'm supposed to do. I was instantly aware of a gnawing feeling in the pit of my stomach, I was famished. But I had to stand to eat. But there was no one to show me how to stand. Was this what the world was? A vast open space of black with nothing in it but myself? Some great place this is, I'd much prefer to go back to the place I was in. Nice, warm, homely place that it was, but awefully cramped. At least here I can stretch my legs forward. Golly, where is everyone?

Hank new Lucid Gold was close to giving birth but was still about three and a half weeks away. He never expected she would give birth early, and out in her pasture for that matter. But she did, all alone. And sadly the birth was too much for her. She passed shortly after the foal slipped from her body. When Hank found her he was grief stricken. This was the first horse he had lost at Shekinah Valley do to accident.

The foal is still in critical contrition. She was found still laying in the grass behind her mother. Cold, shivering, and still damp from birth. She had only been alone perhaps a few hours at most but still had not stood up by herself. Hank, and Leah are doing their best to sustain her through her first few days but she is very week and small, slightly premature. With all hope and a little bit of luck she will make it through the next few days.
