Yey Melody is getting in on the #Natural-Drafters show! Even though she's still young, she did her best.I'm finding her coat color is a bit difficult to keep consistent looking. It's not as smooth looking as her original foal picture.

I use the pen tool in photoshop. Its a bit weird to learn at first but once you learn it, you'll never go back to free handing your lines.

Haha the color is difficult to keep going! I was trying to look up pictures to see if silver dapples ever got lighter or darker as they grow up. But she has genes that I'm not sure really how would act. Like the pearl. o.O Dont really know much about pearl

when you have one pearl gene it doesn't have that much effect on the coat colour. Its only noticeable when it is homozygous pearl (PrlPrl), heterozygous (CrPrl) or "double diluted" champagne (ChCh)/(nCh)+ CrPrl / PrlPrl / (Prl). It kinda sucks that gypsies can't be champagne though 8(

Ooo ok thanks. According to the first link, since she has one cream and one pearl she can lighten and possibly look "almost a completely double-cream diluted color." Which would be a little dark I think since she's smokey silver black I think. I want her to still be a little bit dark when she grows up. We shall see. I still want to be more realistic though.

With the pearl she wouldn't be as light as a smokey cream (Ee/aa/CrCr) but she wouldn't be as dark as a smokey black (Ee/aa/nCr), she'd be right around the middle, probably leaning a bit lighter (imo). But then again I have no idea how the smokey would factor in. Bara is super good with genetics and she could probably give you a better idea if you were looking to go super realistic with the colour ^^.
