Update: Finish the back leg and markings. I'm almost done! After looking at this a while, I was wondering if I should add in some black hairs through out the white markings? I still am going to paint the hooves shell, and paint the tail black and possibly try painting a detailed eye. Then a few coats of Matte Finnish!

Here's a Wip of my current model I'm working on. << How my eyes feel right now after working on this for about 5 hours today. Wouldn't have gotten this far though without listening to an audio book of The Hobbit.

So, the story about this guy as you all have heard: I really wanted a blue roan out of this one but in the very beginning I got one side too dark. So I tried to cover it up with pencil hair marking that ended up being too big. o.O Sooo, again, I brought out the pastels and went over him with 2 coats of black and then took some lighter gray and tried to lighten up or frost his belly and neck area. You can't really tell. lol But I am hoping he will still pass for a Sooty Grullo at least, if he's not a roan. He still does have his faint dorsal stripe.

So what do you think about his markings? Like? Should I add more tiny hairs through the markings? I still have one more leg and side on the left to do and I will paint his tail a little. Also, will be trying to do light colored hooves on this one which I've never done before and am terrified to try.

Also, this is my first time doing this much white on one. It takes so many layers and I'm wondering if it's covering good?
