I'll admit, I was going to go full-force with this as I read the quotes from the interview. But then, I went and listened to it to know exactly what I was dealing with, and, well...I am ONCE AGAIN being incredibly lenient with this whole thing. The rest of the fandom bursts into flames with one misplaced toe, but I prefer to keep my cool and view things in a reasoning light. From the sounds of it, Jesse McCartney just learned that he was officially on the project; as he said, he just finished reading the script. Three hours a day of working out, learning the stuff...he's not there yet, but that's the point. Zuko had no idea how to do anything right in the beginning, but he learned. Jesse's the same way. When he's interviewed again later, hopefully he'll be spouting other sorts of jargon.

And maybe knowing that Avatar actually came from America.

All that aside, though, this cartoon is worth it simply for calling Avatar an anime. That bugs me to no end.

But, hey. News articles ALWAYS call it an anime, and one of the early ones even said that Katara was Aang's sister. It doesn't make it any less annoying, but....

ALL OF THAT BEING SAID...

Mai still does not approve. She does not want to see her on-screen double snogging this guy. It's worse than the time she went to Ember Island and saw her stage double die at the Boiling Rock and float off to be with the ghost of Jet.

Though Mai was also shown in the series to be a woman who is willing to give a guy a second chance. She allows redemption, and doesn't quit just because something's messed up--she waits for the guy to get his brains back and then forgives him.

No fruit tarts for Jesse, though.
