Description
A concept design for a painted, white leather* mask of my Lunacorn char. I didn't include the mane attachments here, because it would have obscured parts of the design, but they will cover up a lot of my hair and ears, hopefully.
The mane attachments will be either blond horse/cowtail hair, synthetic wig hair, or white feather boas, similar to this: [link] 
Btw, if anyone uses this as a ref for Lunacorn, please note that the face is depicted more fawn-like here than would be on her actual char, as I had to shorten her face to fit over mine, and her ears would have pale golden fur tufts on the tips, but that's not easy to make out of painted leather, so I omitted them. I also didn't feel like drawing my own eyes behind the mask, so just pretend that you can see brown eyes through the eyeholes.
*Edit: After contacting many leather mask-makers about commissioning this project, I've decided not to go with leather after all, because then I couldn't include the lower jaw (at least not without paying an arm and a leg for that addition), so I've gone with more traditional-type mask, which you can see the WIP of here: [link] ...Will post the final when it's done!

Oh wow, beautiful design and I can totally see this working with her style of masks. It's going to be gorgeous when it's done.
One question? How is the bottom of the muzzle going to work? You show it curved under/in on itself like sculpted clay. Can one actually get that effect with leather?

Well, due to the undercurve of the muzzle, it seems Merimask can't make it after all, because leather can't be made to curl under like that. I wouldn't mind having the lower jaw made of a separate piece of leather and glued to the mask, but I don't know if she can do that. If not, then perhaps *Qarrezel or =Indigo-Ocean can make this mask out of a different material (I've already asked them about it).

With a bit of tooling, maybe some sort of jaw strap, would be very possible to make a comfortable moving jaw for the mask, to sorta simulate real talking jaw movements, in direct proportion to the wearer's jaw movements while talking >.=.>
In essance, "speaky jaw"

Yeah, that would be awesome, but I don't really plan on speaking in this mask, so I don't really need it (like I will on my Lunacorn fursuit head).

No I didn't. I made then when I was 15. Long before I made a DA account. They weren't out of leather either. (Though I have done leather carving too so I could combine the ideas like other people.) Mine were out of plaster wraps, and paper pulp.
