Backstory

Back in the day, Fleur de Lis and Fancy Pants used to fake 'date' each other to keep their Social image intact. But eventually they decided to do one pick one of 2 options, either they get married and hope they fall in love eventually, or they could see other partners in secret. There was a stallion she had her eyes on for a while and he was a very nice fella to boot. Fancy initially was sad but other than seeing her as an older sister, he had gone on walks with, he had not really made much effort to make more of their relationship. Just like she didn't try to make the best of their 'relationship'. So they opted on the latter.

Soon after, Fleur started going out with the other guy, he wasn't as handsome as her fellow unicorn friend was but overall they were a great match.

Time flew by and Fancy Pants met Rarity again after a long time of being avoided by her. To be fair, he really felt like a douche after the whole "Royal Swanifying" incident. He admitted to himself that he wasn't relatively nice to her. Or her friends.

While trying to make amends, the fashionista still held a grudge on his behavior. Over the months, with persistence on his part, she eventually turned around and they became friends.

Some years after, Fleur and Fancy announced their new partners to the public, which shocked the elite society. The dust settled after a few months and they got used on seeing the previous popular pair with somepony else in town.

Not long after they got married in Ponyville, although the alternative to marry at the high class city, was tempting for her, she still opted on marrying at her home town. The stallion was happy to marry her anywhere, he even started to like the little place out in the land.

After they got married he made this village his second home. He still had his old place of residence in the city so that he could continue with his work there.

A few years after Rarity gave birth to Perleos, Opalia came into the world. And to say she was a fussy baby would have been a massive understatement. Worse if her husband couldn't be home to help bc he had work to do in Canterlot. For her luck tho, some of her friends that had children of their own came by with for play dates.

Pinkie's children were rather rough with their playing, to a point where she reconsidered the idea of having those visits. But then there was Dancing Aurora, Twilight's child. Just like her mother, she was a very organized and disciplined. As if she was a mini version of her alicorn friend.

Normally they would be at her workshop or Fluttershy kept an eye on the little ones, even tho she got a tiny toddler of her own. She was glad to get some help with her kids every once in a while.

As the little unicorn grew, she started to hang around her big bro Perleos. Much to his dismay, his dad pushed him to spent some time with his sister so that they get along in the future.

So Perleos started to play with his little sister. No matter if it was dress up games or making masks out of wastepaper their mom didn't need anymore. And just as their dad was hoping for, with time they grew close.

Once hey hit their teenage years they were practically knows as the most famous fashionista youngsters in Ponyville. Even much more so since Perleos got to use his cutie mark's talent. Which she herself hadn't gotten yet. Her parents tried to cheer her up. Not to worry them much longer she brushed it off and continued helping her mom and brother with some of their problems.

That was when on a one faithful day, she would help out her mom in her boutique as usual, a customer stormed into the store with a terrible getup and mood to match. He had a terrible day. Not only was his get up ruined by his date that got angry at him over a heated argument, but also his hair was ruined by a cat that had to run from a dog. The poor guy really looked like a mess. So Rarity gave him a new outfit. Opalia helped her a little bit but once they came to his mane they had to think. Suddenly, after looking at the hair ties and clips they had on their disposal, the young unicorn had a flash of inspiration. Quickly she went to work. Rarity just stood there in awe at her little girl working on the stallion's hair.

Minutes later, the 3 took a good look at the mirror and the guy was beside himself. He was so happy that he payed them extra b4 heading out the store, in bliss with his new look.

From that moment on Opalia was enamored with Hair design and the accessories that come with it. Naturally that's when her mark appeared.

In complete happiness, the ecstatic mare showed her mark to her family and all the friends. All of them were very proud of her and celebrated her newly discovered talent to the fullest.

Trivia:
-Opalia became close friends with Aurora since they first met at their play dates
-She is not big on parties but she makes exceptions if there are cute guys invited
-While she enjoys doing her friends hair the most fun ones to do are Rainy Wing and Swirly Nova for different reasons
-She meets her aunt Sweetie Bell not very often, so she has to be reminded that her mom isn't an only child

For the record: Yes the stuff with the Royal Swanifying still happened like in the show but with slight differences since Celestia and Luna are still the rulers. But twilight was not there to help them bc she had a mission (or something) going onwhile her friends all the preparation
