for *FlannMoriath 's Advent Calendar Project. oooh exciting. :3 I figured everyone would be be out in the snow, so I chose to draw where I'd rather be: warm and toasty! xD

the original idea for this actually occurred to me years ago, and it was something I had intended to draw and submit to the Neopets Art Gallery for Christmas back when I was still active on that site. It was to have a Lupe and Chia curled up together by the fireplace like that, and be titled Peace on Earth, because this was back when that whole stupid Lupe/Chia war was in full force and I was sick of all the mudslinging going on. (I felt bad for the Chias, too, because they always seemed to be on the receiving end of the bashing, and I thought the vocal Lupe fanatics were kind of irrational and dumb. (OMGWOLFpeople, anyone?) I also wrote a Lupe/Chia peace story that never got published.) I never got around to actually starting it, though, and for some reason it occurred to me to try that idea for the project - with a dog and cat. :3 I decided to go lineless for this to keep that look of softness and sleepiness, and for a while back there I hated it so much I nearly scrapped it and started over, but then I worked on it some more and I'm really pleased with it now. :3
