No offence, it's a great piece of work, nice shading and great sketches but ( i bet somebody mentioned it before, if so, i'm sorry for repeating myself) Amstaff and PitBull, this is exactly the same breed!
PitBull name came from the fact that these dogs were bred to fight bulls, then when people chose to let them fight each other ( dog fights were banned in UK in 1800s) the 'pit' came from the place - area the dogs were fighting in - a pit.
Amstaff is a shortcut from American Staffordshire Terrier, the name became popular in the 70's last century, as USA wanted PitBulls to be knows a human friendly but brave and intelligent dogs, not only for their fighting skills.

Thanks! I do believe that despite having the same roots, Pit Bulls and Amstaffs have both been selectively bred along such different lines that they are in fact two separate breeds. The American Staffordshire is recognized by the AKC, while the American Pit Bull Terrier is not, but nonetheless has breed clubs, lines, and breeders. Rather like how the two types of Akita are recognized as separate breeds in some countries
Nonetheless this is an old piece of art and I've learned lots since then. Thank you for taking the time to write me though!
