They're all really nice, though! I especially like how Incandescent, Inkwell, and Colonel Strawberry turned out. :]

Firstly may I say that all of these little pictures you've drawn for people are so lovely and expressive. I adore your style and I especially like Incandescent - your deer are so pretty (thanks to hyskis?!)

(thanks to photorefs, not hyksis. hyksis and deer actually look very different since hyksis incorporate rabbit and weasel elements too.

(I figured you'd practised the deer when you were learning to draw the hyskis. I remember a sheet with a deer, weasel, rabbit and hyski on it I think? But anyway your deer are lovely)

actually, I was practicing deer long before that - back when I first read Fire Bringer, and I wanted to do fanart for it. (that was a long time ago, though, and the little I actually finished is on my old S7 gallery.) and one of my friends had also asked me to design her a deer character.

hahaha third year in my college is pretty easy so far, not being swamped yet. I was quite a bit last year though, but second year is always the toughest they say. >>; still, you're right in this did take some time. Sketching the heads didn't take long, just really quick - but of course I do aim for quality and cleanness too - drawings in my sketchbook, then I scanned it all and would colour like a few every evening when I needed to unwind a bit. it's all flatcolours, so that didn't take me too long either. I'd been working on it for like... a week or more already! ^^

I still have to write my essay. i'm taking the night off, but this week-end is my application-fill-out weekend.
Obviously I'm not going to major in grammar and sentence structure.

AAHHHHHH I remember that. that was horrible. though for me, the memories of college application are sort of tied in with being depressed because emotional shit happened around that time. blach.
just do it, though, better to grit your teeth and get it out of the way. I do hope you manage to finish all that you have to without too much brainmeltage. and if you will be on the east coast I must stalk you or something. o.o

Yes yes if all goes well I get to go to Boston or Syracuse. No NYC yet... I will save that for grad school if I need to go to that.
I can't believe all the pressure that people go through nowadays for the application process. i'm not all that caught up in that but from what little I am facing, the anxiety is KILLER.
On the other hand, my art is turning out strongly for my AP art class. It's not a matter of getting in for me, it's just the whole process of filling out everything and once I'm in I have to find grants and scholarships. Between school, extracurriculars, a speudo-job, and college stuff i feel a bit stretched thin at the moment...
Just another week or two and a lot of the stress (should) go away.
