Super cute. I loved it.
The first character is an anteater, and the others are species of primates. The tabby and furry one is a gibbon, the other is a macaque and the last one looks more like a lemur.
I think (as constructive critique) that you could have made the motion of the characters to look more natural. For example, the bouncing of the ant eater when he was stuck in the lianas didnΒ΄t look very fluid. ThatΒ΄s maybe because there were some fraims needed in the creation of the bouncing back for creating the sensation of pending back and forth while hanging in the lianas, making the jump from the lianas to look more natural.
But to me is more important what your animation makes me feel.
The cast of characters is very appealing and unusual.

My character is a pangolin, to be specific. :3 I don't think they are in the anteater family but because they do eat ants and insects, they're shaped the same way. Also my little monkey was based off of these guys: [link]
I actually animated and reanimated that scene several times, with more frames included -- it looked too slow and unnatural when it had more drawings in it. This was the best I was able to come up with in the time we were given. :3 I wanted that motion to be quick and abrupt. However I'm glad you noticed that scene as it's one that I'm still not altogether happy with. I will not be working on this animation again, though -- I've worked on it for eight months and I'm ready to move on to new and better things.
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts! I'm glad that you enjoyed it.

Yeees, I thought it was a pangolin too (I forgot to add). And the pangolin and ant eater are not very far from eachother in matters of taxonomy anyways. Pangolin is more closely related to ferae (the carnivores) and also, but lesser, to the mammal clade of Xenarthra.
Haha big zoology fan here.
HereΒ΄s a wiki page with all that knowledge: [link]
The pangolin is classified under pholidota.

Eee Shelley! I just saw this and I'm just amazed! The music and the sequences are choreographed so well, and I just love those fluid, bouncy scenes you have in there with the durian being tossed back and fro. This is really sweet and we can definitely see all the work that went into it. Many congratulations on making such a great thesis (and also for the well-deserved DD!)

Yeah I know, they are scary!! My cousins lived in a house once with a durian tree in the garden and us kids always used to be afraid of going anywhere near it. xD!

XD I'm over in the US and we usually have to buy it frozen. It rarely shows up fresh. Can't imagine why!!! *lmao*
But yes, I will have to go get some next time I see it at the store, and I will reminisce durian hoarding animals as I eat it. ^.^

I drew it all on paper, scanned it, coloured it and did the backgrounds in Photoshop and then composited it in AfterEffects.
