Description I've embarked on a new personal project that combines a long-term love with a new addiction - i.e. dogs and icon-making. I'm planning to make 100 x 100 pixel icons (specially formatted for use on LJ, though they can be used on forums and the like as well) of all the AKC-registered dogs by group as well as more popular unregistered breeds. I'd be open to unregistered breed requests as well.

anyways. I've already finished the Toy Group over the span of about a week, yay. I quite liked the headshots I'd done of them, and a lot of the detail is lost in the resizing, so I thought I'd upload the original art I just love drawing different breeds.

wow! amazing attention to detail on everysingle one of their faces. I love dogs myself, can't get enough of em . I love the Papillon, my favourite toy breed . my only question... wheres the Bichon??? or am I mistaken and they're in the non sporting group?? yeah probably, i havn't watched the Westminster in a while

Aw, now thanks so much I'm glad you enjoy them - I particularly lean towards the sighthounds as you could probably tell, but Papillons are a huge favourite of mine as well And yes, the Bichon is in the non-sporting group as classified by the AKC. I go to the AKC site to group the dogs for these icons so that I don't miss anyone ^^ If you love dogs so much, then there are plenty all through my gallery

These are so adorable! Sorry that I just now am commenting, I've had problems with my watcher alerts.

It'd be awesome if you made them into 50 x 50 icons to *hinthint* I think my favourite one is the Chinese Crested, it just has the most picture-perfect expression!

Unfortunately, I don't know the names of all the breeds XD Any way you could make a little guide to which is which? Then I wouldn't have to say that the second one from the left on the top row captures an expression that seems to be like someone being like 'suuuuure' when someone's exaggerating (if that makes any sense) XD

Wonderful, wonderful drawings one and all! I think maybe you are one of the few dog artists on DA who can get away with doing so many pups at once like this, because it's so incredibly obvious how you never forget any of them; they're all their own dog, with an individual personality peeking through in each face. *looks at icons for names * ...Especially in the (short-hair?) Brussels Griffon, Chinese Crested, Pekingese, Italian Greyhound (lol awww!!), and Papillion. You have such an inherent quality of life in all your drawings. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your icons-- and, uh, I think you should just do the breeds you want to do, sweetie.

Well, it was SAD. lol But soo beautiful! It was just seeing a contemporary 2D animation work again that was mesmerizing. What I most admired was how instantly the audience pitied her, how well the animation made the character a pathos pull. She was only doing what she could to try and get by, and that was felt through her face alone. And of course, at the end of it all, for some reason it still means more to me that someone drew that face, and gave her expression with their hands, bent over a stack of paper with their face in the lightbox the graphite.

What did you think about it???

Wonderful job! lol I used to see so many toys at the dog shows, so I can say definately that you captured them perfectly! Hey when you do the Terrier group can you add in the Kerry Blue? Anyways, wonderful job, a definate fav!
