Description
I've embarked on a new personal project that combines a long-term love with a new addiction - i.e. dogs and icon-making. I'm planning to make 100 x 100 pixel icons (specially formatted for use on LJ, though they can be used on forums and the like as well) of all the AKC-registered dogs by group as well as more popular unregistered breeds. I'd be open to unregistered breed requests as well.
anyways. I've already finished the Toy Group over the span of about a week, yay. I quite liked the headshots I'd done of them, and a lot of the detail is lost in the resizing, so I thought I'd upload the original art
I just love drawing different breeds.

Hey, it all takes practice - and it's ten years already since I started drawing dogs. Back in the day every single dog I drew looked weird, and in making other breeds look unsighthoundish I overcompensated. and so my dogs were either too skinny or too chunky.

=_=; Toy dogs are not just dogs that are small. they are dogs that were bred mainly for companionship and cuddles. Shelties were bred to herd, and as I said, the Herding Group will be up next. gosh.

Heehee, I realised too late that the Cavalier had no tongue-shading, so I fixed that in the icon itself. I didn't fix it in the actual picture.

Your dog art is the best^^ And really inspiring, too -wants to try some different breeds now xD- C: I love how they all came out, especially the Silky Terrier, long-haired Chi, smooth Brussels Griffon (never saw one before), and the Chinese Crested (those dogs need more love 'cause too many people think they're ugly T.T). Anyway, awesome job on all of them^^ I'll be looking forward to the terriers especially ;D

Aw, I'm glad I inspired you to do different breeds! It really is a lot of fun and so satisfying when you can manage to pull them off, from Danes to Chihuahuas to Bernies to whippets. ^^ hope to see some from you soon!

At first I had wanted to say 'oh I just loved this one' or 'Oh that one was the best!' But that would have been a half lie. =/ I'm slightly partial to several of the dogs on this page, though its not my favorite group (Herding is) These images are all just fantastic! They all have their own cute little expressions!
You always do such good jobs on your dogs, I just love looking at your art, its always one of my favorites when it comes to dogs. <3 Many many loves on this one! Can't wait until the next ones!
