Hi, I know this comment is over a year old, but I was curious, what is a prison program?

The prison program is a way of helping greyhounds get used to a home instead of their kennel/track lifestyle. The greyhounds are placed in the prisons where the inmates teach them basic commands, administer their meds,groom them & get them used to being around people. The prisoners learn responsibility. It seems to be an excellent program, the greyhounds adapt very fast & nothing beats adopting a dog that's already trained

Ohhh okay I've never heard of that before, we have a retired trust over here but I don't think it does stuff like that! My friend adopted a greyhound from the track we work at (she no longer does) and she settled in pretty quickly, I think greyhounds just have this laid back quality.
The dog we were told was pretty much a hand full at the track but we couldn't believe it; she picked up sit, paw, speak and stay pretty quickly and is soooo lazy
It's nice to know he got a good home
