it's sad I never reeeally got into MLP as a kid, I would have been a HUGE fan. :[ the new show is pretty great though.

So do you have a favourite pony from the new cartoon or just in general?, for me its a tie between Applejack (I may be biased as she's one of my favourite 'G1' ponies) and Rainbow Dash.

Probably Twilight, because she's basically me I only very barely was aware of the old ponies, though they always interested me and I would no doubt have been a fan if I'd been exposed to them more. I did watch a couple of the movies but none really stood out to me. I think it's great that the show is getting a retooling, and Friendship Is Magic is a worthy successor.

I see a lot of myself in Twilight as well. XD
I wasn't that aware of the older ponies much until a few years ago. I was exposed to the really short lived 'G2' line when I was younger which didn't make much impression on people when the G3 line around I was 'too old' as it were for ponies.
