I've said it before, I find something beautiful about every dog breed -- or critter, for that matter, I never met an animal I didn't like or at least find interesting in some morbid way -- so I guess that tends to come out when I draw!

I mostly find bulldogs upsetting really.. I feel sorry for the poor things and all their health problems. I saw an xray of a "normal" bulldog and eugh their chests are just deformed. I've met some very sweet bulldogs personality wise, but when you see the poor things heaving to try and breath, or with horrible skin infections I can't help but repulsed because we effectively brought these poor things into existence (bulldogs wouldn't be possible without caesarians ;__; )
However, finally people are taking action - I don't know if you know, being a dog nerd , but the Kennel Club has just introduced new regulations for breeding [link]
So I hope this will make a difference to the welfare of a lot of dogs

Oh gosh the health problems. D: Yeah, that bothers me a lot too in real life. It's not even like the poor things can do the work they were originally bred to do anymore -- or for that matter look like the bulldogs of old.
It's fantastic to hear about the KC taking action, though. Breeding is a big responsibility and if you don't know what you're doing then you have no business doing it. I hope it makes a difference too.

The Kennel Club got in a LOT of trouble last year, with a documentary exposing various problems with dog breeds. It was extremely biased, but it encouraged them to start thinking about breed standards. Then the RSPCA said they wouldn't support Crufts and not have a stand there, then the BBC refused to TELEVISE Crufts and the KC made its mind up to do things then!Some dog breeders are outraged as you can imagine, but as a vet student it's brilliant to hear. I can only hope that it does change peoples' attitudes and we have nice, healthy dogs because of it!

That bulldog looks simply awesome; you know I have a fondness for both types of dog on paper (sighthounds and molosser-type), so of course I love it :3. I especially like the wrinkles; I've never been able to draw dog-wrinkles.

Honestly, I don't mind 'I like it' at all. You're still giving me an opinion and even if you can't really think of WHY you like it, it still means something that you told me you like it. It's comments like 'cute!' that annoy because ANYTHING can be 'cute', it doesn't mean anything to me. Sure, some of the things I post are meant to be just cute fluff and nothing more, and then I don't mind. But when I post something that I feel more strongly about, to hear it just be called 'cute' feels like some people are seeing just the surface 'cute' and missing the stuff underneath. I hope you understand what I mean. Of course that's just my opinion and I'm not about to knock anyone for commenting or not, just stating my own personal preference.
D: I'm pretty sure I've seen other Portuguese people on here. If I find any, I will let you know!

My last entry was one of my evil characters, and i did it using a new cool technique that gives a lot of volume etc, so when my evil guy receives comments like "cute" (and he really did) i go like "what did i do wrong??? My evil guy is CUTE!?!" But yeah, maybe i did it wrong and he is :/
Lol don't worry about it, i just wanted to give you a good comment for once, even if you couldn't get it without a translator XD

Is that still what you want (if so, is there any certain style you'd like? In terms of the shape/appearance of the badge, or a specific style of my art you'd like to see them in), or would you like something different? I like all your doodledumps though! And yeah, I've been really getting into a more loose cartoony style lately and playing around with colours and such and it's a lot of fun. I feel like I've spent a lot of time already studying to get anatomy correct -- and of course I will still do that when I get a critter to draw that's new to me -- but with dogs and such that I've been studying for years already, I'm just having fun and it feels great. liberating!
