for *WhisperingWolf 's obscure species contest! this is my new Verreaux's Sifaka character, I've loved these critters forever and the contest was just the impetus I needed for me to make a character of one. :3 her name is Mazava, it's a Malagasy word that means 'bright, light and clear'. YES she is a lemur, YES she is of the type of lemur featured in the movie Dinosaur, please guys can we stop mentioning this movie and the resemblance, it gets old and I didn't even like the movie that much anyway? ;.; sorry! I wasn't even thinking about that movie when I created her, I was thinking of the old show Zoboomafoo. Zoboo is the reason I love them okay. more about Verreaux's Sifakas: [link]

Haha yeah, I remember that show xD I was never really into it, but I definitely remember it. And the one of the closeup face DOES really remind me of Dinosaurs, so I think you're probably right and that's the species they were at least based off of :] Cuuuuute sgksjglkd

Yeah, the Lemurs on Dinosaur were based off differen subspecies of Verreaux's Sifakas. [: Namely Propithecus verreauxi verreauxi, Propithicus verreauxi deckeni, and a controvercial subspecies of Verreaux's sifaka that has black/brown on it's limbs.
The creators of the show knew that Lemurs weren't around in the time of Dinosaurs, but they added them for the sake of entertainment. :B
