Description The GWR's Hall Class was undoubtedly its most successful 4-6-0, mixed traffic engine, a go anywhere, do anything. The Hall's lineage can be traced to the Saint Class of George Jackson Churchward, who was the progenitor of the GWR's standardization scheme. Charles Collett, who succeeded Churchward as the GWR's Chief Mechanical Engineer, recognized that the 43xx moguls were being overworked, and the 47xx 2-8-0s were too large, and so proposed to simply downsize a Saint, which he did when he rebuilt Saint Class number 2925 Saint Martin with smaller driving wheels and other modifications such as outside steam pipes and pitching the boiler a little more. 258 Were built by Swindon Works from 1928-1943, but production was halted in 1932, but resumed again in 1933. The last Hall, 6958 Oxburgh Hall was delivered in 1943, from which Fredrick Hawksworth continued to produce an updated version, the 6959 Modified Hall Class. 11 Halls are preserved in working or static condition, and one is in the process of being converted to the 78th member of the Saint Class, 2999 Lady of Legend.

In this sprite, it can be seen here with your choice of a Churchward 2,500 gallon tender or a Collet 3,500 gallon tender.

That would have been interesting to see how it would have competed against the LMS' other mixed traffic engines like Crabs and Black Fives or even Standards.
