Burnett reckoned that if he had told the cultists this then they would not believe him. He used Lady's position as their object of worship to get the message across, as they believed everything she would say.

"MY WORD IS FINAL!" Lady said. The cultists all looked at one another and realized that an order from Lady was to be followed no matter what, even if it meant disbanding the cult, and thus they began to pack up their things and begin the process of leaving the commune.
