ever tried paint tool SAI? its really great for painting, has some really useful brush blending options and tools(i guess that fancy schmancy new photoshop has those too though? ive never used it much coz its laggier than cs3/fail)

That's great, I'd love to see what your art would look like with line quality. That isn't a stab at your current work of course, I'm just saying that extra element can only make your work even more hardcore.
