Description Inspired by the amazingly fun 'Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labryinth', started to think of other anime properties that could use a video game adaptation. Either haven't been tapped for one in a LONG time, or never seemingly got one. As well as my own picks for the type of genre(s) that I think could potentially work best.

Hope this makes for a decent read.

-Gatchaman=
-Game Genre: Action-Adventure Open World (ala the Batman 'Arkham' games or Insomniac Games 'Spider-Man')
-Possible Second Genre: Top-Down Action RPG (ala the 'X-Men Legends'/'Marvel Ultimate Alliance' games)

Now there has been a decent number of games made based on this classic franchise, but still feel like there's room for more.

I'd LOVE to play a game where you either get to feel like you're one of the 'Science Ninjas' or have a small squad of them going around dishing out violence upon the forces of Galactor.

A Batman 'Arkham'-style game would be pretty boss, really giving you a feeling of being one of the characters as you traverse a level or open-world map using terrain and tools to your advantage as you take on groups of Galactor thugs, the combat system would be right at home with the Gatchaman franchise, and would fit rather well.

BUT there's also the 'team component' to the group, and I feel like something similar to the 'X-Men Legends/Marvel Ultimate Alliance' games would/could work well with the Science Ninja Team. Would allow for their individual styles and approaches to fighting really shine through.

-Mobile Police Patlabor=
-Game Genre: Tactical Shooter Hybrid (ala original 'Rainbow Six' games or 'Swat 4')
-Possible Second Genre: Turn-Based Tactical Strategy (like Firaxis's 'X-Com' games)

Thinking of something that would, IMHO, fit the Patlabor franchise was a bit difficult. It's much more of a 'Realistic Robot' franchise than most of its brethren. So over-the-top action like say... Gundam for example, wouldn't be a good fit in my eyes.

So something more... 'procedural' seemed like a better idea to me. Either something resembling a mech-version of Rainbow Six/SWAT 4... or a mech-version of an X-Com styled game seemed like a good place to start IMHO. Basically each mission/level would deal with the Patlabor squad being called in to deal with different situations involving the various 'Labor' robots, either malfunctioning ones or those being used by criminals/terrorists/etc.

Or perhaps a mixture of these two genres??

-Black Lagoon=
-Game Genre: Top-Down Chaotic Shooter (ala: 'Hotline Miami' or 'Redeemer')
-Possible Second Genre: Third Person Action Shooter (preferably a mixture of 'Wet', 'Max Payne' and 'Just Cause')

The violent manga/anime series just seems to fit the above genres like a glove. Being able to play as Revy and just go apeshit on various enemies in glorious/'gore-ious' in a hail of bullets, doing all these crazy acrobatic moves as you gun down opponents. Maybe throw in the ability, DLC or unlockable, to play as Roberta down the line? Just to amp up the chaos!

I'd be up for playing in such a game world.

-Goblin Slayer=
-Game Genre: Side-Scrolling Hack n' Slash (aka: a darker and bloodier 'Golden Axe')
-Possible Second Genre: Doom-style FPS 'Hack n' Slash' (ala 'Hexen', 'Witchaven' or the 'Hedon' games)

I'm surprised that nobody has (seemingly) tried to bring this anime/manga to the world of video games... outside of Gacha-style mobile games. Goblin Slayer seems tailor-made for a 'Brutal Doom'-esque pixelated FPS or Side-Scrolling Hack n' Slash. And there are, now, plenty of different Goblin types (as well as other creatures) to fill up the enemy roster.

Maybe, one day, this will happen?

-Bubblegum Crisis=
-Game Genre: Third Person Shooter (in the style of something like 'Metal Wolf Chaos')
-Possible Second Genre: Third Person Action Hack-n-Slash (ala 'Transformers: Devastation')

Either version/iteration of the franchise, the original OAV or the later '2040' remake.

For some reason these two games, 'Metal Wolf Chaos' and 'Transformers: Devastation' popped into my head when trying to think of how I'd approach a game based on this property. It's a bit more over-the-top in it's approach and attitude, which fits the styles of 'Metal Wolf Chaos' and 'Transformers: Devastation', especially if it's done in the supremely awesome cell-shaded 'cartoon' style of the latter. Though, like my Patlabor entry, a mixture of these two games would probably yield the best results.
