Flutterbat encounters a wild orange. Flutterbat is confused (I don't know how she would react, as we only saw the vampire bats eating apples in this most recent episode)If your attacker comes at you with an apple, you use a Flutterbat ("but what about pointy sticks?" "Shut up!")

I'm surprised I haven't posted more Fluttershy art, she is my favorite pony and my favorite of the Mane 6 to draw (I guess she ends up in more notebook doodles than actual art pieces).

Well..... Since The traits That Fused with Fluttershy belong to Vampire FRUIT Bats (*"Fruit" Bat not "Apple" Bat*) I'd think Fluttershy would go for the Orange. C:

This is what I was thinking, though apples seem to be the dominant fruit to pick from in the apple orchard.

Well they were in Apple Jack's farm which is best known for it's apples but we know oranges, cherries, grapes and other fruit exist there so I'm thinking a vampire fruit bat would like them all but I was left with the feeling that apples is their fav food.. Kind-of like me and Pizza.. Can never get enough...

Either that or apples just happen to be the easiest fruit to suck juice from. Plus they're in high supply in an apple orchard.

Hmm yeah having a supply of juice would be a issue..So if it had been oranges that AJ grew we would be drawing Flutterbat with oranges which have a good amount of juice too... So glad it was apples for many reasons but mostly because Rainbow Dash wouldn't freak out over the loss of OJ and we wouldn't have learned that RD has a cider dinking problem..
As for easier.. I doubt it would've made any difference to them unless it was a really dry fruit .. So I'd have to say it was the fact that apples were easy to get and there was plenty of them and they are juicy..

Valid points about OJ and Dash's drinking problem (which might become apparent as the season goes on). My take is that vampire fruit bats (or a Flutterbat as the case may be) have the potential to ruin any fruit growing business provided the fruit has a relatively high amount of juice (they might not ruin banana trees as bananas aren't really "juicy", and coconut shells would likely be too hard for their fangs to crack).

I'm not so sure they would ruin AJ's farm.. As supply went down AJ could/would charge more money but other hand that would cause inflation and thus ruining pony economy but Fluttershy did say the seeds would be stronger.. As for coconuts.. I agree.. bananas? Well they are not much denser than apples so I'd call that a maybe.. As for RD's drinking problem..Yeah we may see more of it..
