I felt I needed to brush up on my expressions, so I used the 25 Essential Expressions Challenge sheet ( napalmnacey.deviantart.com/art… ) and a mirror so I could get some practice, and decided to use my character Ro from Affinity, so I basically am killing two birds with one stone. Eh... I still need more practice.

It might just be me but Ro's expressions seem a lot more "alive" than Zian's. Seems like you had more fun drawing this one

Definitely will have to try this! I've been looking for ways to
develop my original characters a bit better and lots
more consistent since they DO need to look alike for
an animation.

sheets I've seen are generally for looking at only.

I just want to mention Paul Ekman; to put it simply, Ekman has made some books, on "facial expessions." I've found one of his books usefull in drawing, they are not meant for drawing I think.

I love this a lot but maybe I would play with dilated and undilated pupil/eye... You know how in animes they make their pupil really small when a character is angry or the other way around :>
I think that helps expressing emotions a lot

I see, sure thank god one's perfect, everyone has their sticking point! And you probably know better than I that it will get easier with time. 
That said, even if you are being more gingerly with the drawing, the finished product is great!
