Description
Collage I did in high school, mix of acrylic paint, photos, paper cutouts. The bottom is part of a sun made up of photos where the people have been cut out and paper with different patterns has been placed behind them so the patterns show through where the person has been cut out. A solar flare in the shape of a tree, based on a photo of an actual solar flare, emerges from the sun and birds cut out from an aubdoban book are resting in it. A flock of various birds, especially hummingbirds, are swarming and soaring through the air leaving rainbowy trails behind them. The golden "tree" joins with a blue figure concealing its chest. I really wish I could repaint that figure now that I can paint figures well. Oh well. I made the frame, which is twigs with bits of colored glass and mirrors glued in with a hot glue gun which I used excessively so it would leave spiderwebby trails through the branches. This is one of my favorite high school pieces.
