My words were 'tense' and 'rain' c:
This is my Jam piece for ~Jennite of her absolutely fantastic oc, Mercutio! I had SO much fun with your character, oh man the lightning was so awesome to draw! xD
The background was such a struggle, I've never drawn any sort of urban setting before, so I tried to start with something simple. The bg went through 3 completely different overhauls before I settled on this scene. The lightning as I said, was just fantastic. I will DEFINITELY be doing some more lightning in future!

Ohhh you're going to love it! And I'm looking forward to seeing you're digital art! It's a great tablet and I actually really like the 'rough' surface, it's nice for a person who's used to drawing on paper cx
I don't actually draw that much so the nib wear isn't bad for me at all (max is about 2 hours a day during the holidays I suppose..) but professionals that paint for more than 8-9 hours daily will definitely complain. So far (and I've been using it for about a year) I've used 1.5 nibs

I looked at a lot of tutorials on here and combined various methods. First I use a medium-blue color to draw in the bolts of lightning, then pure white in some of the cores where the lightning is brightest. Then I make a new layer set on 'color dodge' (I use Photoshop) and just airbrush the same medium-blue color and a light blue color over the bolts. Hope this helps!

Critique welcomed, you say? Well, then, you've asked for it!
You have a very impressive use of colours here, they are stunning, but I think Mercutios head should be a little bigger and the white 'moustache' (how is it called, really?) look too contrast. But despite all of this, it's an amazing work. You did a wonderful job with lightning, it's good to see at least someone knows how to draw it. And the fur is wonderful (though it looks like it's floating around the body, not growing out of it on his side, but that might only be me).
And the background is amazing! Really. Like in the middle of nowhere after some kind of a techno-apocalypse. Stunning.
